I have loved sailing since I was 18, and I've been a member of MASA for about 30 years. Every year I go out with Pride of Baltimore II, a local tall ship, as a guest crew member. I sailed a catamaran through Croatia and Greece and enjoy sailing in new places every chance I get. I'm always on the lookout for new members who would also enjoy the sailing club experience. |

I learned how to sail as a kid on Cape Cod sailing Beetle Cats. (I still get a lump in my throat whenever I see a catboat!) Since then, most of my experience has been on the Chesapeake Bay with the exception of some blue water sailing off the Southern New England and Carolina/Georgia coasts, a passage to Bermuda and a couple of weeks on the Adriatic and again on the Aegean. For several years, when my kids were young enough to enjoy "camping on the water," I owned a Coronado 25 which I initially berthed on the Magothy River and then at Solomons. I've been a member of MASA for over 20 years. |

I started sailing on Cayuga Lake when I was 10, in a Beverly Dinghy (13’ cat rig). After being on a race committee in high school, was on the college racing team (Tech Dinghy, 13’ sloop rig). Soon after (1979) I moved down to the Washington area, I moved onto my beloved Albert 35 yawl on Back Creek in Eastport. That was a good 2 years, but I got married and had to trade it as down payment on a house that would fit a 4 person family. Had a half share in a Catalina 22 for a while, but soon joined MASA and began a Spring and Fall chartering routine with a bunch of crazy pirate-like characters. I am back on Back Creek, but now in a condo. |
